Remember that VH1 show where they showed the old home movies of your favorite stars before they hit it big (most of them were awful). There's this site called HardlyFamous.com where it lists the occupations of celebs before they hit the big time. Some you already know but some may surprise you:
-Paula Abdul: was a Laker Girl (duh)
-Christina Aguilera: sang the National Anthem @ Pittsburgh Steelers & Pirates games
-Black Fran Drescher: worked at a daycare
-Lucille Ball: was a model and a waitress [got fired for forgetting the bananas in a banana split lmao]
-Halle Berry: beauty queen [runner up Miss USA 1986]; prior to that she worked in the kids section of Higbees department store
-Brandy: worked in a hair salon (Sonja, why didn't you help out your girl?)
-Naomi Campbell: as kid, she appeared in the videos for Bob Marley's "Is This Love" and Culture Club's "I'll Tumble 4 Ya"
-Mariah Carey: dropped out of beauty school [I wonder why?] and worked as a hat checker in a club
-Bill Cosby: worked at a naval hospital
-Joan Crawford: worked in a laundromat (no more wire hangers! game proper)

-Taye Diggs: was a waiter for Pizzeria Uno
-Shiddy: was an intern for Uptown Records and did the shit work like car washin' and fetchin' coffee for Andre Harrell.
-Vin Diesel: peformed in a 'How to Breakdance' video
-Michael Clarke Duncan: was a bodyguard for a number of celebs
-Carmen Electra: worked as a magician's assistant at the King's Island amusement park in Ohio [Carmen recalled that a bird shit on her one time]
-Fergie: voiced Sally and Lucy in the Charlie Brown cartoons when she was 9 years old
-Redd Foxx: worked as a dishwasher in a club alongside Malcolm X
-Morgan Freeman: was an Air Force mechanic
-Whoopi Goldberg: worked as a bank teller
-Macy Gray: worked at a McDonalds (would you like fries with that?)
-Teri Hatcher (from Desperate Housewives): was one of the "Love Boat Mermaids" on that show's final season
-Whitney Houston: was a back-up singer for her momma Cissy and Chaka Khan (among others) and worked as a model [appearing on the cover of Seventeen, Vogue, and Glamour and in a Canada Dry commercial]
-JHud: worked at a Burger King
-DL Hughley: like Macy, he worked at a McDonalds (what is it with fast food, must be the dollar menu)
-Ice Cube: had a degree in architectural drafting (whatever that is)
-Ice T: wrote Mr. T's "Be Somebody's Fool" (that lame 80s video)
-Samuel Jackson: during a civil rights protest at Morehouse college, Sam held hostage some of the board of trustees
-Alicia Keys: when she was 4 years old, she appeared on the "Slumber Party" episode of The Cosby Show
-Lil Kim: was a salesperson at Bloomingdales in NYC
-Beyaki: do I really need to explain this one?
-King Latifah: worked at a Burger King and was the star player on her high school basketball team (hmmm...)
-Cyndi Lauper: was a waitress in a karaoke bar
-Carl Lewis: worked at a McDonalds [hmmm, wonder what kind of shake he liked lol]

they actually featured nelly on vh1's behind the music...he had an assload of trophies from all the different sports he played; he was like this superstar athlete. i always thought, 'why the hell didn't you just stick with that? you might've been significant a little longer.'
